We are fortunate to have such a supportive community as we tackle this collective crisis. Your contribution to the MPFS Fund is vital to the values infused education we continue to provide to our students', offering them calm, normalcy and support during the pandemic. Our ability to rapidly respond to the moment and continue to support our students, families, and faculty depends on the support of our community. However, with our area under a stay-at-home order, some of our budgeted income can no longer be realized. We continue to keep our faculty and staff on salary and to pay other operating expenses. While there is much to be proud of, there are also challenges. We'll continue to seek new ways to grow our MPFS family and look forward to welcoming new students in the fall. We are excited to have these new tools in our admissions toolkit, and are encouraged by the response they've received. We have launched innovative ways to showcase our school to prospective parents through virtual open houses and campus tours, which has long been a goal. We could not be more proud!Īs an organization, we’re maintaining a page of COVID-19 resources on our website. We have seen acts of true selflessness as MPFS students, alumni, and families, find new and creative ways to help serve their larger communities. These day-to-day connections are vital to their well-being while we’re all practicing social distancing, and we’re dedicated to providing safe ways for them to stay connected. Within our community, our students connect with each other every day to laugh, play, celebrate and work on projects and homework. Our teachers and staff have gone the extra mile to make sure students are getting the Quaker education we value so highly at a time when it is needed most. While many schools have struggled to adapt to this new virtual model, MPFS students have not missed a single day of instruction. MPFS worked to meet students’ needs, providing essential equipment to those who lacked the proper tools for distance learning. At MPFS, we have a tradition of being one of those safe spaces, a tradition that has continued in new ways over the past several weeks. In this unprecedented time, one of the most important things we can do is provide safe spaces for our children: a sense of calm amid the turmoil, a sense of normalcy amid the upheaval, and a sense of support when there is so much out of our control.
